Description
Between 1984-2003, the Utah Jazz qualified for the postseason every year. When that 20-year streak ended, the Jazz made two crucial decisions to ensure they would make it back fast: sign Carlos Boozer in free agency in 2004 and draft Deron Williams third overall in 2005. Boozer and Williams served as the bridge to the next successful era of Jazz basketball — capturing two division titles in 2007 and 2008 and winning four playoff series between 2007-10, including three trips to the semifinals and a Western Conference Finals berth in 2007. Squaring off against the Charlotte Bobcats in their fifth and final season together, Boozer and Williams wear down the defense with an array of driving layups and slam dunks. Combining for 53 points, 20 rebounds, 14 assists and two steals on 21-for-33 shooting, the duo erase an 11-point halftime deficit to rally for a 102-93 win on February 24, 2010. Boozer was an All-Star in 2007 and 2008, while this season was the first of three straight selections for Williams.
