Description
In his first playoff game in two years, Anthony Davis painted a defensive masterpiece. Davis hosted a block party for the Memphis Grizzlies in their own city in Game 1 of the First Round, issuing multiple rejections to Desmond Bane, Xavier Tillman and Jaren Jackson Jr. no matter how they tried to score. The eight-time All-Star was a true game-wrecker at all three levels as he turned aside a variety of dribble drives to the basket and also recorded blocks on a put-back attempt, a pull-up try from the foul line and even one on a 3-point try 30 feet from the basket. When he was finished, Davis had tallied 22 points, 12 rebounds, three assists, three steals and a whopping seven blocks in the series-opening 128-112 win on April 16, 2023, becoming the ninth player in league history to register seven blocks and three steals in a playoff game.
